Nowadays, computers come with so many USB ports that there’s bound to always be a few left sitting unused. For example, HP desktop computers come with up to 4 USB ports! If you think that’s cool, check out these fun things to plug into your USB ports.
USB Robot Owl: An adorable little owl that perches on top of your laptop monitor or the included stump-shaped stand! Powered by a USB cord (of course), this cute addition to your desktop blinks and turns his head to glance around in three different “moods”: active, mellow and sleeping.
B-flex 2 USB Speaker: Now here’s something that makes good use of limited desktop space–a speaker that plugs into your USB port and then stands on top of the slender, flexible cord so that it’s positioned beside your screen.
USB Aromatherapy Oil Burner: It looks like a flash drive, but the scent gives it away; it’s a tiny aromatherapy burner that’s powered by your computer! Pull out the tiny drawer, add a few drops of aromatherapy oil, close and enjoy.
USB Heated Blanket: An electric heating blanket powered entirely by your computer’s USB ports. Why didn’t they think of this sooner? Comes with two USB cords, so if you have a particular surplus of unused ports, this is right up your alley! Plug in one cord for low heat, and both cords for high. A great addition to the aromatherapy burner above.
24-port USB Monster Hub: Too many great gadgets and not enough USB ports? Plug in this baby and you’ll turn one port into a staggering 24! Rounded shape lets flash drives and other protruding devices plug in without hitting into each other, with two USB ports stacked on top of each other in each of the notches around the wheel. Still not enough? Well, by plugging other USB extenders into this hub’s ports, you could expand your number of available plug-ins to 100+…but you’d probably run out of desk space for all the gadgets at that point!
