The Evil of Pirates

It’s understandable that in a rough economy people are looking to save a dollar or two anyway they can. It’s even more understandable that people are looking under every rock just to try and find out the best way to keep their money in their wallets. In cyberspace the economy is no different. People won’t spend extra money at the grocery store but then go online and browse resources like accredited online colleges and spend countless amounts of money downloading their favorite video lessions,  movie, album, or software. These people are trying to be frugal and that often leads them to be enticed by some bad ideas.

One of the worst ideas that people turn to online is the idea of pirated software. Pirated is just a fancy word for stolen, but there is something about the term that makes it seem and feel less illegal to most people. There are a number of people who find the idea of getting the things they want for little to no money to be an attractive option. However, for those that think that they are getting ahead and saving dollars by getting their software or media illegally, think again.

The truth is that these versions of the legal software are not always what they seem. First and foremost the sites that these can be obtained from are spyware sites or are often phishing sites. There is no advantage to having this kind of clutter on the computer. Computers will lose their efficiency if they are jammed up with various software.

Of course there are a number of people who pretend that being online and getting the software from a user-to-user site poses no real threat. But it’s not the case at all. These people can be either underhanded, or they can be the type of people that don’t know about the spyware they have attached to their files. Being forced to replace your computer isn’t a good trade off for the hottest album.
